Admission Requirements for International and Foreign Exchange Students and Parents

  • Foreign exchange/international students must have completed the equivalent of at least eighth grade and be at least 14 years old, but not more than 18 years old.

  • Foreign exchange/international students are to be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. On campus and at school activities, foreign exchange/international students are expected to communicate only in English to improve communications skills and to more quickly assimilate into U.S. culture. Unless a CSIET approved program certifies the student’s English proficiency, the TOEFL or SLEP exam is required. See TOEFL.org for test information.
  • International students must go through a skype interview with the administrator to be accepted at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School.
  • Foreign exchange/international students attending WVLHS will not earn a WVLHS diploma unless all graduation requirements are met. However, all exchange/international students will receive a transcript.

  • Foreign exchange/international students must pay tuition and fees to attend WVLHS. Housing expenses and personal spending money are the responsibility of the student.
  • Foreign exchange/international students are required to take a religion class each semester in attendance.
  • Foreign exchange/international students are to comply with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Foreign exchange/international students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities. As a member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, only students who have attended WVLHS for more than one year or are participants of a CSIET approved exchange program will be eligible for varsity competition.
  • Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School will apply for the SEVIS(I-20) Form for F-1 visa international students after the receipt of the following information:
